As I think back, about all of the bicycles that I have found, and all of the stories that accompany them, few are more entertaining, to me, than how I came into possession of the Sekine MR300.  The story does not span a great deal of time, nor does it involve complex bicycle finding procedures.  The story, does, however, exceed just about anything I could have imagined a few years ago.

I like to start my days pretty darn early.  Usually, by six, I have at least two hours into the day.  By 9:00am, I am ready for a bite to eat, and a cup of tea.  And it was while I was stirring my morning cup of tea that I noticed someone in my back yard, walking away from an assortment of bicycle I had recently picked up on behalf of Bicycles for Humanity, an organization that I volunteer much of my time to.

At any rate, I saw the fellow pass out of view from my vantage point, only to return a moment, or two later, walking a woman's something or other "Ten Speed", towards the apple tree.  After gently leaning that bike, against the others, already leaning against the apple tree, he passed, once again, from view.

Moments later, he came into view again, this time walking this drop dead gorgeous Sekine MR300.  He paused, for the briefest of moments to cast one last look at the bicycle, and then started away, again.   By that time, I was in go meet the fellow mode, but by the time I managed to exit the house, the young man was long gone.  But three bicycles, all newly arrived, waited for me to see what they had to offer.

An awful lot of bicycles show up in my back yard, donated to the Bicycles for Humanity cause in Thunder Bay.  Every now and again, I lay claim to one through the Earn a Bike Program, and this old Sekine was one that had captured my interest.
