NISHIKI INTERNATIONAL - INTRODUCTION
Nishiki bicycles first made their appearance in North America, around 1965, under the American Eagle name. These bicycles were imported into the United States, in large numbers, offering competition to domestic bicycles, as well as those imported from other countries. A wide variety of models and quality ranges were offered, meeting the wants and needs of recreational and competitive riders alike. Nishiki was not an uncommon name during the bike boom days and those that followed. By the early eighties, like many other bicycle companies, production was moved to Taiwan in an effort to remain competitive in a dog eat dog industry. Well made, for the most part, and designed to meet a wide variety of needs, the bicycles were well accepted and sold in great numbers during the seventies, eighties and into the nineties. All in all, bicycles well worth having, depending on model and vintage. NEXT - FINDING THE NISHIKI INTERNATIONAL
