MIYATA 1000 GT - INTRODUCTION

ONE OF THE BEST VINTAGE TOURING BICYCLES EVER MADE?

Few vintage road bicycles, be they European, North American, or Asian, can come up to the quality and ride standards, presented by this eighties something Miyata 1000 Gran Touring bicycle.  And, touring is certainly the operative word. Simply put, the bicycle is exceptional in just about every way, and worthy of any collector/rider's appreciation.

One other touring bicycle has caught my attention, and eighties something Apollo Gran Touriste.  It, too, was a very well built machine that reeked of vintage appeal.  The Miyata failed to achieve the vintage look but the Old School feel, of the ride, was there every time I took it out for a spin.

The Miyata was an, all but perfect fit, for me and it offered an, all but, incredible ride.  The only thing that I did not like, about this wonderful old touring bicycle, was the color.  I prefer brightly coloured bicycles and the Miyata was anything but bright, even though it did shine in the performance department.
