FRANCESCO MOSER - INTRODUCTION

FIRST SERIOUS BUILD AND NEVER RIDDEN

I have met hundreds of people on-line through my Ebay sales, website and forum visits.  Only a couple of on-line meetings have ever manifested themselves in a real world connection.  The first met on-line fellow that I ever hooked up with in person lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  His name it Tom and he collects vintage Balloon Tire bicycles.  Not necessarily to my liking even though at least one old Balloon Tire steed hangs in the Old Shed today.  I might add that a few other old timers share space with the Green Steed, one of which even has wooden rims.  Anyway...

On a visit to Winnipeg where I visit my daughter and her children a couple of times a year I planned to meet up with Tom, who I had met on a fairly popular vintage bicycle forum.  He had expressed interest in a couple of old roadsters that I had at the time - a CCM Red Bird and a special issue 1935 (best guess) CCM Boy Scout, a name that I assigned the bicycle because it was issued in honour of a Boy Scouts of Canada anniversary.  With Tom's interest in mind and the idea of my first off-line on-line meeting, I loaded the two bicycles into the Ranger and away the four of us went, the fourth being my lovely wife, of course.  I DO NOT get to visit the kids, and grandkids, without my wife sharing the visit with me.

Thanks to Tom, it was my good fortune to cross paths with a fellow who collects CCM bicycles, particularly those that still wear their original paint.  It was that fellow's interest in CCM bicycles and my interest in vintage road bicycles that set up the building of this gorgeous, eighties something, NOS Francesco Moser.
