BIANCHI REKORD 848 - INTRODUCTION

This is a second Bianchi that came near to being included in my collection of vintage road bicycles.  A nineties something Trofeo failed the test.  So too did a Champion du Monde.  But this one had most of the qualities that I like.  If I had lots of storage space and tons of money, this Celeste green early eighties Bianchi Rekord 848 would not have been passed on to someone else.

The bicycle looked to be anything but an easy project to complete, when first stumbled upon, but the results, and little money spent achieving them, speak for themselves.  The bicycle was pretty, well maintained and a piece of cake to restore to its present condition.  All in all, a vintage road bicycle collector's dream, even if the Bianchi itself is not a dream bike.
