MOTOBECANE INTER CLUB - INTRODUCTION

THE FIRST AND ONLY TANDEM

I purchased this near mint, 1992 Motobecane Inter Club tandem road bicycle with the hope that my wife would join me on a ride or two, now and again.  She never did express any interest in doing so.  That outcome, coupled with my own lack of interest in owning (and storing) a great big bicycle meant that the Inter Club would be seeking adoption elsewhere and soon.

I must admit that the notion of riding a tandem does still offer a modicum of appeal and I do wish that my wife had shown a bit of interest.  My guess is that these bicycles built for two could be a lot of fun ride.  Given the right circumstances, of course.  And the right circumstances never did present themselves.

Will I ever buy another tandem bicycle?  Probably not.  They are just take up too much room and they are too heavy to be lifting up and down off of a set of hooks.  As I get older, the loads that I can lift become smaller.
