The final test ride of the Automoto Porteur was not to be granted.  Though I wanted very much to restore this wonderful old French bicycle, a good customer and now friend in the US wanted the bicycle more than did I.  With that in mind, the Automoto began yet a third long journey, it being carried rather than being the carrier.

A fellow who had already bought two bicycles from me, one a drop dead gorgeous Proctor, the other a needs full Street Restoration Mercier Gentleman, could not resist the Automoto.  With that in mind, an offer was made, on the bicycle, and accepted.  The Automoto was about to fall under the awesome protection of Home Land Security.

So, the Automoto has left the building, this time The Old Shed.  With luck, the finished bicycle will find itself displayed on pages to follow.  After all, the fellow who bought the Automoto was the first ever to be invited to put pictures of his bicycle on MY "TEN SPEEDS"
