PHILLIPS - INTRODUCTION

This beautiful old English Phillips was offered for auction, as a frame set, on Ebay and later built up for the winning bidder, who's name just happened to be Phillips.

  Mr. Phillips questioned the Phillip's listing and asked if I could build the bicycle for him.  This sort of request is not uncommon.  I do enjoy working on a projects for other people, as long as it is one person and one project at a time!  The Phillip's build spanned the course of three days, during which time Mr. Phillips and I exchanged a number of e-mails, pertaining to how the bicycle was being built.  The result - a very nice old English bicycle that looks just great, works like a charm and will appreciate in value as the years pass.

The Phillips is anything but high end.  Neither is it entry level.  It is quite old when compared to most of the vintage road bicycles that come my way.  After building hundreds of bicycles, I was pretty sure that the Phillips would clean up really well and offer a distinctive vintage feel when being ridden.  Bicycles like the Phillips are becoming increasingly sought after since they still offer the opportunity for vintage road bike ownership at a fraction of the cost of the more exotic steeds.
