1970s HOLDSWORTH EQUIPE - INTRODUCTION

Several, mid-seventies Holdsworth Equipe road bicycles, have found their way into The Old Shed, over the years.  The Equipe was Holdsworth's entry level model, in the mid seventies.  The bicycle featured a high tensile plain gauge tube set and Reynolds 531 forks.  The Equipes could be purchased, as either a five speed or ten speed models, both relying on Campagnolo's entry level Valentino Extra transmission to handle gear changing chores.

The Holdsworth Equipe is a fairly ordinary bicycle.  It does come in a cut above, many other entry level machines, of the same, or similar, vintage.  Well finished and in attractive color combinations, the Equipe is the type of vintage road bicycle that is rapidly increasing in value.  It is still with-in reach of the average pocket book, and certain to gain in value, for many years to come.  And, to make it all even a touch more interesting, the Equipe offers a pretty nice ride.
