VELO SPORT CRITERIUM - INTRODUCTION

This eighties something Velo Sport Criterium is a pretty close to a top of the line model.  The bicycle is one of the nicest Velo Sports, I have ever owned.  On two occasions, I have been granted the opportunity to view Velo Sport Supers, the top dog offered by this old Canadian bicycle company.  I have even managed to find one of the top doggers, but it is a long way from being road, or even eye, worthy.

Velo Sport Canada manufactured a considerable variety of road bicycles, from the lowly Routier to their top dog, the Super.  I have been lucky enough to own six different models and all proved to be well made and nice riding bicycles.  This gorgeous and little used Criterium was by far the nicest of the lot but, as is very often the case, the bicycle was much too large for me.  I did ride the bike but only long enough to know that Velo Sport's better models were indeed something special.
