SEKINE SHS 270 - INTRODUCTION

It is rare that I will include an article about a bicycle that is not one of my own.  The gorgeous red third from top of the line Sekine SHS-270 is one that I never owned.  But I did fully rebuild the bicycle and I spent the better part of an afternoon test riding it.

The bicycle is absolutely original, with the add-on exceptions of the aftermarket plastic fender and luggage rack.  Other than that, everything on this beautiful old Canadian made Sekine is exactly as it was made the day it was issued from the factory in Three Rivers, Manitoba.

The bicycle was a graduation gift from a grandmother to her granddaughter.  The young woman did ride the bicycle but judging from the apparent low wear on certain components, one would have to wonder how much riding the SHS 270 has actually seen.
