SEKINE "BIG GREEN" - INTRODUCTION MY FIRST VINTAGE ROAD BICYCLE This entry level, Canadian made Sekine started me down the path of collecting and riding vintage road bicycles. I knew somewhere between, very little and absolutely nothing, about vintage road bicycles, when I decided to restore this first old "Ten Speed". And, I paid dearly, for this complete, and utter, lack of knowledge. That said, and even though I have only one picture of this old bicycle, it does, none-the-less, hold a dear spot in my heart. "Big Green" was the first one I owned, built and tried to ride. The experience could well be described as a complete, and utter, failure. Of that, there is no doubt. But, that same experience, allowed me to know that I wanted to try again. Building this old road bike up was fun. I honestly enjoyed, every single moment of the experience, and I urge others to give it a try. It is, however, wise to learn from the mistakes of others (me in this case), and the story, surrounding the building of "Big Green", will help all to learn a great deal.
