FINDING THE PEUGEOT SPORT

Little can be said about finding the Peugeot Sport.  Simply put, it was earned by volunteering my time to Bicycles 4 Humanity.  Our Thunder Bay Chapter, of this great organization, has already managed to send 3000+ bicycles to Namibia, Africa and another shipment is presently ready, at the time of this writing, to be shipped to Sierra Leone.

B4H volunteers are allowed to earn bicycles, by donating their time and effort, to the cause of finding and supplying bicycles to needy people.  Though I do many duties as a volunteer, the one I like most is picking up bicycles that have been donated to the effort. I am also considered the head bicycle mechanic and most of the volunteers turn to me for repair advice.  Finally, because I bike hunt most of the time, I find a great many bicycles on my own which I also donate to the cause.  And my reward is the pick of vintage road bicycles that are donated to our chapter of Bicycles 4 Humanity.  This beautiful Peugeot Sport being one of them.

The Habitat for Humanity group, in Thunder Bay, has agreed to accept bicycle drop-offs for B4H.  There is no catch, other than I do not allow the numbers to build up.  With that in mind, every time the Habitat for Humanities manager calls me, I go immediately to pick up any dropped-off bicycles.  And, it was on a lovely spring morning, that I got the call to come and pick up about a dozen old bicycles.

Generally, I get an assortment of mountain bikes and roadsters.  Every once in a while, a road bike or two, might be included.  On this particular day there were several road bikes, two of which attracted my attention immediately.  A hand made Panasonic and, of course, this very little used Peugeot Sport.
